WAREHOUSE
Goods placed under customs control but not cleared for import are stored in a customs warehouse. This procedure has the advantage of delaying the payment of customs duties and taxes, as the duties are only levied when the goods are released from the warehouse for free circulation. If such goods are re-exported, there are no customs and tax obligations at all.
Type D warehouse
The warehouse is implemented within the Book Entry module and supports the functionalities of a customs warehouse type D – private customs warehouse.
The records are quantitative and are kept at item level. Inventories are disclosed using the FIFO method.
Main features:

EMCS – Movement of excise products
EMCS allows the control of movements of excise goods (alcohol, tobacco and energy products) within the European Community, which is at the heart of excise legislation. The basic principle is that all consignments of excise goods on which excise duty has not yet been paid can move within the European Community under duty suspension only between authorised economic operators. This means that economic operators carrying out activities relating to excise goods must register with the competent control authority and obtain the relevant excise duty licence, which allows them to receive and dispatch excise goods under suspension of excise duty.
EMCS - Movement of excise goods under suspension of excise duty within the EU
